Eyes See, Ears Hear

Eyes See

It is battle time on the southern sector. The sounds of war rise up all around me like hawks swooping for prey. Now diving steeply. Now soaring up. But you wouldn't notice unless your ears were rehabilitated.

What would you see if your eyes could regain their sight? You would see the armies of  Yaweh Sabaoth heading into battle. If you looked up into the sky, you would see chariots of fire. You would see Yahweh El Shaddai swooping into the enemy's territory with fire and with sword.  Then you would know why He is called Yahweh Shamma. When the strangers come from Egypt, all you need is to call out to the Commander of the army of Yahweh. He's there waiting to defend His sons and daughters against satan and his horde of demons; against sorcerers and their potions. Nothing can withstand the precious blood of the perfect Lamb of God. No one can challenge the triumph of the cross. What a futile battle. The victory was clinched at Calvary.  Go in confidence into the thick of things, into the dust and the clamour. Rush headlong into their camp and overturn it. Its time to see like the servant of Elisha.

17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.[2 Kings 6:17]

When you see this, your heart will rejoice
    and you will flourish like grass;
the hand of the Lord will be made known to his servants,
    but his fury will be shown to his foes.
15 See, the Lord is coming with fire,
    and his chariots are like a whirlwind;
he will bring down his anger with fury,
    and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16 For with fire and with his sword
    the Lord will execute judgment on all people,
    and many will be those slain by the Lord.[Isaiah 66: 14 - 16]

In all this commotion, its wise to remember that there are two parties involved: the sons of God and the foes of the Most Mighty. How could one possibly decide to be the Lord's foe? What will become of such? How many of such are there? I think there are many. Much more than you might guess because everyone who does not heed the voice of the Lord becomes His enemy. Everyone who fails to love Him with all of their hearts and all of their souls and all of their minds has missed the mark and fallen short of His standards. He IS God after all and Sovereign. His word is law. No appeal court exists that will sit to hear a case against the Holy One of Israel.

Ears Hear

It's BIG. These are times and seasons that even the prophets and the angels longed to see. We are the privileged witnesses to the closing seconds of the age. It's battle time. This time listen. Listen to that noise above the trees. It's the armies of God on the move. The Lord is moving into position ready to strike. Down comes obeah. Down comes juju. Voodoo comes crushing down. The Kabballah priests seek where to flee. But the escape routes are sealed off. The time of reckoning has arrived. Decide quickly before the fire descends and turns every foe into charcoal.
 If only you could hear the awesome marching of this army, you would tremble with dread. How blessed are the ears that hear and heed.

24 As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move quickly, because that will mean the Lord has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.[2 Samuel 5: 24]

With a noise like that of chariots they leap over the mountaintops, like a crackling fire consuming stubble, like a mighty army drawn up for battle.[Joel 2:5]

Therefore go forth in confidence because Yahweh has gone out ahead of you. His fiery chariots are like a whirlwind. Go with Him. Vanquish the enemy and complete the victory of Calvary. Its time to go into the mission fields. Knock on the doors. Announce from the rooftops. Broadcast this breaking news: The Messiah is coming! Prepare the way.

The LORD of Storms

And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.[Mark 4:39].

Lesson? The Lord was asleep in the storm. He was not in the storm. Neither was He in the earthquake. Nor in the wind and the fire. [1 Kings 19:11 - 12]. But in the midst of the storm, if you call upon the Lord, He will save you. He will answer you.

Call upon Christ and He will save you. Remember the Lord in the midst of the storm. He has power to command it: "Peace! Be still!". [Romans 10:13; Acts 2:21; 1 Corinthians 1:2].  But you may ask, how do we call upon the Jehovah ? He answers in Joel 2: 15 - 17 :

Blow the trumpet in Zion,
    declare a holy fast,
    call a sacred assembly.
16 Gather the people,
    consecrate the assembly;
bring together the elders,
    gather the children,
    those nursing at the breast.
Let the bridegroom leave his room
    and the bride her chamber.
17 Let the priests, who minister before the Lord,
    weep between the portico and the altar.
Let them say, “Spare your people, Lord.
    Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn,
    a byword among the nations.
Why should they say among the peoples,
    ‘Where is their God?’”

And how does the Lord answer? He answers in mercy and compassion and finally, abundance of grace:

Then the Lord was jealous for his land
    and took pity on his people.
19 The Lord replied to them:

“I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil,
    enough to satisfy you fully;
never again will I make you
    an object of scorn to the nations....[Joel 2: 18 - 19]

Then He adds:

28 “And afterward,
    I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
    your old men will dream dreams,
    your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
    I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
[Joel 2: 28 - 29]

When you see the tall, dark storms clouds gathering, remember the Lord. When you see the news about Paris or San Bernardino or about Westgate and Garissa University, remember Christ. He promised to return for His sheep - for those who have prepared and kept ready for the Bridegroom. The rescuer is ready but are you ready for the rescue operation? It's the season of dark clouds. Be wise.
